Alternative spaces play an important role in providing platforms for artists that have been overlooked or erased from the mainstream art world. This panel discussion brings together artists and organizers from alternative spaces based in South Korea and Los Angeles to discuss the common challenges, driving questions, organizing strategies, and different relationships to the mainstream art worlds in their respective locations. Participants include Jungmin Cho (White Noise, Seoul), Inyoung Yeo (SpaceOne, Seoul), Jisoo Chung (artist, Los Angeles), Eric Kim (HRLA & Bel Ami, Los Angeles), and Alex Paik (Tiger Strikes Asteroid, various US locations).

ASL interpretation will be provided.

Attendees will also be able to view the current exhibition at Tiger Strikes Asteroid LA (5th floor, #523) “The Most Winning Lottery Store” curated by Jungmin Cho (Director of White Noise).
